JAMMU, Sept 24: Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology (YCET) organized two days workshop on Raspberry Pi in association with IIT, Varanasi, here.
The workshop was organized for final year students of Computer Science and IT Engineering.
It was inaugurated by Dr. Arvind Dewangan, Director, YCET on September22, 2017in presence of Dr Sandeep Malik, Dean, YCET, Heads of all the Departments, Er BR Verma, Chief Coordinator and RS Dalpatia, Deputy Registrar.
Er. Liqzan Manna was the resource person from IIT, Varanasi, who successfully conducted the workshop with interactive sessions. It was also attended by all faculty members of the department of Computer Science and IT engineering.
The objective of the workshop was to create a platform to explore beyond the academic syllabus and help the students to try different types of engineering projects.
On the first day participants were given an insight of raspberry pi and its various applications. And on the second day, the students were explained the basic procedures for working with raspberry pi. The students were divided into fourteen teams and worked on seven different projects.
Raspberry Pi is a micro-computer, which can be used to implement different types of projects. It offers a choice of programming languages like Python, C, C++, Java, Scratch, and Ruby all of which come installed by default on the Raspberry Pi. These embedded systems require less operating time, compact in size and have high efficiency.
The workshop concluded with valedictory function where Er. Vidhi S. Singh Jamwal, Chairman, JGEI was the chief guest. The Chief Guest distributed the certificates of excellence to the teams who developed best projects during the workshop. Er. Dinesh Gupta, HoD Computer Science and IT Engineering presented a vote of thanks at the end of the workshop.
The winning teams will now proceed to IIT Varanasi.
