UDHAMPUR, Sept 29: One day workshop on the theme “Development of Scientific Temperament” was organized by Ministry of Culture, Government of India and Vidya Bharti Sanskriti Shiksha Sanstha, Sanskriti Bhawan Kurukshetra held at Bhartiya Vidya Mandir High School, here.
In the workshop, 400 students from different schools–BVM High School, BVM Thathi, BVM Krim-chi, Government Boys Higher Secondary School Udhampur, Government Girls Higher Secondary School Udhampur and DAV High School participated.
These students were divided into three categories and students attended the lectures by expert teachers.
Students participated in various activities like paper reading, essay writing and model display from class nursery to 10th. Various topics were taken in the workshop including ‘Use of Science in Everyday Life’, ‘Stories of Various Indian Scientists’, ‘Indian Development in Space’ and ‘Conservation of Environment and its Resources’.
On the occasion, District Education Planning Officer JM Tharmatt was the chief guest, who while speaking said that the students should learn everything with the scientific temperament by which they can increase their wisdom. “Various topics related to our daily life and its problems cannot be taught in the schools but we need to have wisdom for solving them what can be gained by our thinking only”, he stated.
Later, the students who clinched top three positions in aforesaid categories were awarded by Ved Parkash Sharma, who while speaking encouraged the students.
In the end, Renu Sharma, Principal, BVM High School presented vote of thanks.
