JAMMU, Feb 26: GD Goenka Public School, Jammu conducted a workshop-cum-interactive session for teachers on the topic ‘Winning Secrets of Teaching Excellence through Accountability and Creativity’.
The ethos of the workshop was to incorporate 3 Ks as culture – Kodo (continuous thinking), Kagne (continuous acting) and Kaizen (continuous improvement) in the teaching-learning process.
The workshop was conducted by Dr Dheeraj Mehrotra, a renowned educational innovator and versatile educationist. As a National Teacher Awardee, he has published over 45 books  on variety subjects and has trained over 6000 teachers globally on Classroom Management, Quality Management, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, Experiential learning and NLP (Neuro-linguistic Programming) in academics.
The workshop aimed at updating the teachers with the changing trends and arriving at innovative solutions through mind mapping. Dr Mehrotra emphatically apprised the teachers of the role of educators which is to update themselves, expand their knowledge ambit and learn new methodologies to make their classrooms very interesting. The session equipped the teachers with various innovative strategies.
Principal of the school Rajesh Rathore reiterated that the skills associated with effective classroom management can only be acquired by willingness to learn.
The session was concluded with an enlightening mind-map activity, wherein the members of different faculties brain-stormed in groups and shared their findings with the audience, showcasing their innovation and creativity.
The teachers left the venue far more contented, equipped and illuminated than what they perceived before the commencement of the session.
