JAMMU, Aug 27: A Workshop-cum-Exhibition on Teaching Aids was organized by Dogra College of Education today wherein the B.Ed. trainees of the College gave presentation regarding their respective models on different topics related to various subjects of teaching in schools.
The topics included Global Warming, Energy and its Types, Deforestation, Consolation of Stars, Life Cycle of Honey Bee, Physical and Chemical changes, Methods of Vegetative reproduction, Sources of Food, Ozone Layer, Water Cycle, Structure of Atom, Soil Erosion and Types of Rainfall.
The Programme started with the welcome address by Shefali Sharma, Vice Principal, Dogra College of Education.
The Exhibition was inaugurated by Prof B D Damral, Director Academics, Dogra Educational Trust.
In his address, he highlighted the usefulness of Teaching Aids in the Teaching Learning Process and also the interest, attention and motivation created among students with the help of various types of Audio – Visual Aids. He stressed upon providing Quality Education to the students and the use of innovative ideas and teaching methodology to create a healthy teaching learning environment.
Kr Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust, Bela Thakur, Academic Coordinator, Dogra College of Education, Principals and faculty members from various Schools were also present on the occasion.
The expert teacher educators in various teaching subjects acted as judges to select the best models out of the groups.
In the Teaching of Science,  Tanuja stood first whereas Swati and Aprajita were adjudged second and third respectively.
In the Teaching of English, Sandhu Manhas was adjudged first whereas Manjula and Shiwani Choudhary stood second and third respectively.
In the Teaching of Social Studies, Lakshmi Devi got the first prize, Ritu Devi got the second and Shivani Singh remained at third spot.
In the Teaching of Mathematics, Kirti got the first prize whereas Sonia and Rimpy got second and third respectively, while in the Teaching of Hindi, Shivani bagged the first prize, Bela Mangotra got the second and third prize was won by Manisha.
