SRINAGAR, July 6:Wonder Boys Cricket Club Sopore defeated Baghi Islam Cricket Club by 30 runs in the ongoing Sopore T-20 Cricket Tournament at Khushal Sports Stadium, here today.
Earlier, batting first, Wonder Boys Club scored a modest total of 138 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing seven wickets in the process.
In reply, Baghi Islam Cricket Club scored 109 runs only in the allotted overs by losing six wickets, thus lost the match by 30 runs. For his brilliant knock of 50 runs Mansoor Ahmad of the winning team was declared as man of the match.
Meanwhile, in another match, GB Riders Naseem Bagh trounced Youngsters Cricket Club by 3 wickets. Electing to bat first, Youngsters Cricket Club scored 140 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted overs.
In return, GB Riders Naseem Bagh chased the target easily in 18.3 overs by losing 7 wickets, thus won the match by 3 wickets. Junaid Ahmad of the winning team was declared man of the match for his splendid knock of 40 runs.
The tournament is being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Police, District Sopore under the aegis of DIG North Kashmir, Baramulla.
