Vriddhi Royals lifts title trophy of 3rd PPCPL

JAMMU, Apr 29: Vriddhi Royals trounced Elite Tigers by 51 runs in a thrilling contest and lifted the title trophy of 3rd Police Public Cricket Premier League (PPCPL), played at KC Sports Club, here today.
Earlier, in the summit clash, Vriddhi Royals won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 159 runs for the loss of six wickets in the stipulated 15 overs. Arya made highest 37 runs, while Dikhshant scored 35 and Satyam contributed 34 runs. From bowling side, Dhruv Parmar took two important wickets while Sukhman and Abhay Tonday claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Elite Tigers managed to score 108 runs for the loss of eight wickets and lost the match by 51 runs. Musaif played a good innings of 71 runs, while Shivansh made 15 runs. From bowling side, Vishal took three wickets, whereas Vanshaj and Prince Rana claimed one wicket each.
Vishal was adjudged man of the match of the final match and awarded with a cash prize of Rs2000, whereas Vishal Sharma was declared as best bowler and presented trophy along with a LCD which was sponsored by Women Club Jammu and Arya Suvansh was declared best batsman and also awarded with LCD along with trophy, sponsored by Vishal Cricket Club. Musaif Aijaz was adjudged with man of the series award of cash prize of Rs 25000, sponsored by Wheelocity Skoda.
Meanwhile, in the first Semi final match Vriddhi Royals defeated Game Changer by 77 runs. Batting First Vriddhi Royals scored 183 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. In reply Game Changer managed to score 106 runs by losing all wickets and thus lost the match by 77 runs. Satyam was declared man of the match for his outstanding batting.
In another semi-final match Elite Tigers defeated Samar Strikers by six wickets. Batting First Samar Strikers scored 137 runs in the allotted 16 overs. In reply Elite tigers chased the target in 14.2 overs by losing only four wickets and won the match by six wickets. Sukhman was declared man of the match for scoring unbeaten 46 runs.
The matches were officiated by Saleem Ul Rehman, Sudhir Singh, Amit Gupta, Sadiq Husain, Harbinder Singh, JD Singh, Ashok Kumar and Rahul, whereas RP Singh was the commentator and Rajesh Gill former Ranji player was the organizing secretary of the event.
Seven teams participated in the tournament including Game Changer, Friends Club Kathua, Vriddhi Royals, Samar Strikers, Elite Tigers, KAP Smashers and Game Changers Rising Stars.
Executive committee members including Rajesh Gill, Rakesh Koul, Sudhir Singh, RP Singh, Saleem Ur Rehman and Sanjeev Mahajan distributed the trophies and cash awards to both winning and runner up teams.
