JAMMU, Mar 6: A Volleyball Tournament under the Civic Action Programme was organized by 137 Battalion, CRPF, Udhampur (J&K) from March 6 to 10. The inaugural match of the tournament was held at SIKS Government Higher Secondary School, Udhampur.
The event was attended by MK Sicon, Commandant, RL Meena, Deputy Commandant and Suresh, Deputy Commandant of 137 Bn CRPF. Other prominent personalities present included Ashok Padha, President, Volleyball Association Udhampur and Executive Member of J&K Volleyball Association, Ashok Kumar, Joint Secretary, VADU, Naveen Kumar, PEM, Dy. SSO, Amit Sharma, PET, Dy. SSO, Anshubrat Khanna, PET and Ashish Sharma, President, Jaganoo Volleyball Club. CRPF jawans, local youth and residents also attended the event.
Six teams are participating in the tournament, namely Roun Domail Volleyball Club, Tikri Volleyball Club, Jaganoo Volleyball Club, Chiryai Volleyball Club, Barta Volleyball Club and Spikers Volleyball Club. The opening match was played between Tikri Volleyball Club and Jaganoo Volleyball Club, showcasing energetic gameplay and teamwork.
CRPF personnel and local coaches encouraged players and promoted sportsmanship, fitness and discipline among youth. Trophies, medals, sports kits, refreshments and sports equipment were distributed among the players and spectators.
