POONCH, Sept 3: Indian Army organised a Volleyball tournament in Gulpur for youth hailing from border district Poonch. All teams from different villages played with zeal and vigour.
The final match was a keenly contested match played between Kohli Thunders and Khari Stars in which Kohli Thunders emerged victorious. 16 teams participated in the tournament which played on a knock-out basis. More than 400 people gathered to witness the match. The tournament was aimed at developing a competitive spirit amongst the youth and also providing them with a platform to showcase their talent.
The Sarpanch and elders of the villages expressed their gratitude towards the Army in its endeavours to motivate the youth of the region and bring in bonhomie. During the prize distribution ceremony, trophies were presented to the winner and runner up teams and players of the tournament.
