JAMMU, Nov 6: Vishal Cricket Club and Simula XI registered resounding victories in the ongoing Eid-Diwali Milan T20 Cricket Cup, organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Police Department in collaboration with Simula Softwares at MA Stadium, here.
In the first match, Vishal Club scripted a narrow win by Rainawari Cricket Club by 16 runs.
Winning the toss and batting first, Vishal Cricket Club scored 171 runs in the stipulated 20 overs for the loss of 1 wicket. Sahil Bhalwal was the top scorer with 73 runs in 50 balls including 10 boundary and 1 six and remained not out, while Bansi lal also hit well made 66 runs in 43 balls with the help of 8 fours and 1 six. Avinash also contributed 28 runs in 19 balls to the total. For RCC, Rohit took the lone wicket to fall.
In reply, RCC could not chased the target and managed to score 159 for 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs , thus lost the match for 16 runs.
Shabaz Ahmad was the top scorer with 50 runs in 35 balls including 5 fours and 2 sixes, while Satish scored 41 runs in 26 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes and Sidharth scroed 18 runs. For Vishal Club, Shezad took 3 wickets, Varun claimed 2 and Sahil took 1 wicket. Sahil Bhalwal of Vishal Club was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant performance.
Meanwhile, in another match , Simula XI defeated Christian Sports Organisation by a big margin of 85 runs. Winning the toss and batting first, Simula XI scored 181 runs in the stipulated 20 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Atul was the top scorer with 43 runs in 29 balls with 6 fours and 1 six ,While Shashi and Varun were the other batsmen who scored 34, 24 runs respectively. For Christian Sports Organisation XI, Nitu was the most successful bowler who took 2 wickets, while Amit and sonu shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, Christian Sports Organisation XI bundled out for 96 runs in 19.2 overs, thus lost the match by 85 runs. Rishu, Sunny, Bharat and Nitu scored 24, 19, 13 and 9 runs for Christian Sports Organization XI respectively. For Simula XI, Mohit Puri, Varun took 2 wickets each, while Vivek claimed 1 wickets. Atul of Simula was declared man of the match.
