JAMMU, Nov 21: Vinayaka Cricket Club defeated Vitasta Cricket Club in the KPL-X, played at KC Sports Club Ground, here today.
Vitasta won the toss and elected to bat first. Playing first, Vitasta made 125 runs by losing 8 wickets in stipulated 20 overs wherein Vijay Ambardar and Sunil Koul made 36 runs each. From the bowling side, Rakesh scalped 3 wickets by giving 22 runs in 4 overs, while Sumit took 2 wickets and Vijay, Rajinder and Rajesh shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, Vinayaka CC achieved the set target by losing only 4 wickets and registered 6 wickets win over their opponents in 17.4 overs. Rajesh and Surinder (Lara) started the proceedings and Lara made a fantastic 32 off 33 balls, while Vinney made just 10 runs before he was adjudged LBW. The main highlight was the marvellous batting by Bal Ji who remained unbeaten at 59 runs off 51 balls by hitting 8 fours and 1 six.
From the bowling side, Sunil took 2 wickets and Satish and Anil got 1 wicket each.
Rakesh was declared as player of the match for his outstanding bowling performance.
