JAMMU, Nov 10: Outpla-ying their rivals convincingly in the quarterfinals, cueists Sohail Khalid and Vidit Gowri sealed berth in the semifinals of the Senior Snooker Championship, which is as part of the ongoing 23rd Jammu District Junior and Senior Billiards and Snooker Championship, being organized by J&K Billiards and Snooker Association at MA Stadium, here.
The other quarterfinal matches were in progress till the last reports came in.
Earlier, in the quarterfinals matches played today, Vidit Gowri defeated Jaideep Monocha (3-0) by (44-06, 78-55, 65-32), while Sohail Khalid, who represents Jammu and Kashmir Forest Department also outplayed Nikhil Kapahi (3-1) by (74-45, 38-50, 54-42, 56-42).
In other matches played earlier, Satyjeet beat Nikhil Verma (3-0) by (58-13, 47-10, 40-20), Abhi Gupta got better of Shubneer Sharma (3-0) by (50-27, 40-37, 56-25), Rahul Dev Singh prevailed over Jaswinder Singh (3-1) by (19-69, 51-39, 60-55, 54-19) and Nikhil Kapahi defeated Aman Sharma (3-2) by (43-55, 67-28, 74-15, 30-43, 47-33).
Meanwhile, in District Srinagar Junior, Aamir Hussain outplayed Basit Wani by (71-16, 54-09), Fahas Idrees defeated Kamran Shah by (63-46, 36-74, 63-29), Tahleel Zameer beat Muneer Mir by (72-29, 60-02) and Faisal Ali trounced Adnan Wani (55-34, 09-49, 50-39).
