Vicky guides LCC to register 19 runs win over YSCC in inaugural tie

JAMMU, Apr 15: The excellent bowling performance by Vicky guided Lions Cricket Club (LCC), Satwari to register 19 runs victory over Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC), Simbal Camp in the inaugural tie of the Baisakhi Premier League, being organised by Diamond Cricket Club at Government Boys High School, Simbal Camp here today.
Batting first, after winning the toss, Lions Cricket Club scored 103 runs for all out in allotted 20 overs. Atul was the top scorer with 19 runs including two balls towards the fence, while Nazir and Kala also contributed 18 and 10 runs respectively.
For Young Star Cricket Club, Navdeep was the pick of the bowler with 4 wickets, by conceding just 24 runs in his 4 overs spell, whereas Sandeep and Virender also scalped 2 wickets each.
In the second inning, Young Star Cricket Club failed to chase the target and bundled out at 84 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Pawandeep chipped in 17 runs including two boundaries, while Harsheet Singh also contributed 17 runs including 2 balls towards the fence.
Vicky of Lion Cricket Club with his best line and length, scalped 4 wickets by giving just 9 runs in his 4 overs spell, while Bansi and Vicky took one wicket apiece.
Vicky of Lions Cricket Club was declared as man of the match for his excellent bowling performance.
The match was officiated by Inderjeet Singh and HS Bablu as umpires, whole Swarn Singh maintained the scoreboard.
Earlier, the tournament was declared open by Amarjeet Singh in presence of officials from Diamond Cricket Club, locals and sports lovers.
The tournament is being organised under the supervision of GS Michael, organising secretary.
