UP crushes J&K by 110 runs

JAMMU, Feb 15: Formidable Uttar Pradesh crushed unpredictable Jammu and Kashmir by a big margin of 110 runs in the ongoing Under-23 Boys One Day Cricket Tournament at Jaipuria Vidyalaya Ground, Jaipur in Rajasthan.
Earlier, put into bat, UP scored a mammoth total of 309 runs in the stipulated 50 overs, losing 4 wickets in the process. Madhav Kaushik slammed a brilliant century (139) off 1134 balls with the help of 17 fours and 2 sixes, while Karan Sharma contributed 73 off 90 balls, studded with 7 fours and 2 sixes. Skipper Shubam Chaubey and Sandeep Kumar contributed unbeaten 33 and 26 runs to the total respectively. From Jammu and Kashmir, Auqib Nabi, Umar Majeed, Abid Mushtaq and Muneeb Munaf claimed one wicket each.
In reply, J&K managed to score 199 runs in 43 overs, thus lost the match by 110 runs. Jiyaad Nazir Magray top scored with 58 runs off 85 balls, studded with 7 fours and one six, while Kanhaiya Wadhawan contributed 37 runs off 34 balls with three fours and one six. Paras Sharma and skipper Sahil Lotra contributed 32 runs each. From Uttar Pradesh, Mohd Saif took 3 wickets, while Trishal Vijay Trivedi, Sunil Kumar and Wajid Ali took 2 wickets each.
Uttar Pradesh secured 4 points from this win, while J&K failed to open their account.
