KATRA, Mar 5: Wrestler Ajay Sharma of Landen Power House, Udhampur lifted the 8th Bhagtha Dangal Title 2018 by defeating Wrestler Farooq of Sarore (Jammu) in the main first malli bout that lasted for 23 minutes at Bhagtha, near here today.
Dangal was organized by Peer Baba Jakh Devta Dangal Committee Bhagtha in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of President Bhagtha Dangal Committee Sat Pal Singh and other members of the committee.
28 bouts were played in the on day long Dangal. Winner of 1st malli bout Ajay Sharma cash awarded Rs 6,000 along with ‘Maa Ki Chunni’ while runners-up wrestler Farooq got Rs 5,000.
The 2nd main bout was fought between Amir Khan of Bajrangi Akhara Jammu and Babba of Kot Bhawal, Akhara Domana Jammu. This bout was won by Amir Khan, who was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 5,000 while the runners-up Wresrtler Babba got Rs 3,000. The 3rd bout was won by Muneer Khan of Nagrota who defeated Rajesh Sharma of J&K Police, resident of Jindrah.
Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council Shiv Kumar Sharma, who is also President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed cash prizes among the winners and runners-up Wrestlers.
Deputy Divisional Manager SMVDSB Katra Vakeel Singh presided over the function. Vice President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri) and General Secretary Udhampur District Indian StyleWrestling Association Om Parkash Verma were the guests of honour.
The bouts were officiated by Tulinder Kumar, Ravi Kumar, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Surinder Kumar and Murli Dhar (Munna).
The Vote of thanks was presented by Sat Paul Singh, President Peer Baba Jakh Devta Dangal Committee Bhagtha.
