JAMMU, Sept 3: Districts Udhampur and Kathua shared honours in the 3-day long State Level Inter-District badminton championship, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at indoor hall BSF School Paloura, here.
Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Kanchan Bala was the chief guest on the valedictory function, who alongwith Sukhdev Raj, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu distributed the medals and trophies among the winners and runners-up teams.
Earlier, in badminton Under-19 boys summit clash, Udhampur beat Srinagar to lift the title trophy. In 1st singles, Vikram of Udhampur defeated Ishan of Srinagar by (21-16, 21-11), while in doubles, the pair of Vikram and Dhanajay of Udhampur trounced the duo of Ishan and Sharib of Srinagar by (21-10, 21-18).
In Under-19 girls, Kathua drubbed Srinagar by (2-0). In the 1st singles, Shikha Sharma of Kathua beat Intzar of Srinagar by (21-7, 21-0), while in doubles Shikha and Durga of Kathua defeated Intzar and Asama of Srinagar by (21-9, 21-8).
