KATRA, Nov 14: Udhampur District Indian Style Wrestling Championship will be held on November 18, 2016 at Subash Stadium, Udhampur.
The decision in this regard was taken in a meeting held under the chairmanship of President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma who is also Treasurer of Indian Style Wrestling Association of India.
General Secretary of the State Association Bansi Lal Tidyal said that the weigh-in of wrestlers will start at 10 am sharp and bouts will start at 11 am.
According to a handout issued here, the wrestlers have been advised to bring their Jangia (Red & Blue) for the Championship.
Chairman Technical Committee Mulk Raj Sharma, NIS wrestling coach disclosed that championship will be held in the seven weight categories of 55 Kg, 61 Kg, 75 Kg, 85 Kg, 97 Kg and above up to 120 Kg as per the latest norms of Indian Style Wrestling Association of India.
President Udhampur District Indian Style Wrestling Association Sunil Badyal said selected wrestlers will also participate in the coming Senior State Indian Style Wrestling Championship, adding that Certificates and Medals will also be awarded to the wrestlers.
