JAMMU, Mar 4: The International Award for Young People (IAYP) organized a two days national training workshop at Jodhamal Public School, Jammu, today.
Twenty Four Award Leaders including Principals and co-coordinators of 12 different institutions from J&K, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttrakhand and Assam participated in the workshop.
The Workshop was inaugurated by Kapil Bhalla, Director NAA and Trilok Singh Bist, Principal Jodhamal Public School. Bhalla introduced the NAA team and gave a brief on the Award Programme.
Mr. Bivujit Mukhoty (Programme Manager) led the first session on the Award Philosophy and Framework. He detailed the importance of the four pillars of the Award i.e. Skills, Service, Physical Recreation and Adventurous Journey and the requirements for each section of the Award. The last session for the day was on the brand guide in which Bivujit Mukhoty detailed the branding guidelines in respect to the award programme.
The next day started with a review of the previous day’s activities, followed by the sessions on Adventurous Journey and Risk Management mentored by Bivujit Mukhoty. There was a session on Residential Project in which Kapil Bhalla detailed the project requirements for the gold aspirants.
The workshop concluded with the presentation of the certificates to the participants by Ms Arati Kuthiala Trustee of the school. The Principal T S Bist added that next year Jodhamal School is trying to organize another Duke of Edinburghs Award Programme Workshop in Jammu.
Earlier IAYP was known as the Duke of Edinburghs Award Programme. The award leaders namely Deepmala, Bhupinder Kour, Bhawna Madaan and Shallu Sharma from Jodhamal Public School were the part of this Workshop.
