JAMMU, Feb 11: The medal winning Gymnastics team of the State returned from 35th National Games to a rousing welcome, today.
The team comprising of Palak Kour, Mitali Dogra, Mridul Gupta and Pawandeep Kour along with their coaches returned with 5 medals including 2 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze. The team was received at the Jammu Railway Station at 6:30 in the morning and the players and coaches of the medal winning team were garlanded and presented bouquet by Nuzhat Ara, Sports Officer (Central); Ashok Singh, Manager MA Stadium; Satish Gupta, Manager Mini Stadium Parade; Baljinder Pal Singh, Incharge Bana Singh Stadium, R S Pura and coaches of the Sports Council including Suraj Bhan Singh, Satpal Singh, Vikas Dogra and Vikas Sharma.
Coaches of the team S P Singh and Krupali Singh lavished praise on the Officers of the Sports Council for their gesture and expressed their gratitude for providing all possible help for the exemplary performance of the State Gymnasts. They also attributed the success of the team to the parents of the Gymnasts.
Meanwhile, in a message, Secretary J & K State Sports Council, Daleep Thussu has lauded the efforts of the players and the coaches for this splendid show. Chief Sports Officer, Abdul Qayoom has also expressed satisfaction over the performance of the players.
