Three J&K students participate in NEYP held in Parl House

JAMMU, May 24: Three College students from Jammu & Kashmir participated in National Environment Youth Parliament (NEYP) held recently at Parliament House in New Delhi.
The participating students were Manyata Sharma (BCA Semester 3rd) and Pratha Khajuria (BBA Semester 3rd) of Government SPMR College of Commerce and Dinesh Kumar (BA Semester 1st) from Government Degree College, Sunderbani.
On their return from New Delhi, the participating students were honoured at a function hosted by Government SPMR College of Commerce Jammu in collaboration with Paryavaran Sanrakashan Gatividhi, Jammu.
Vice Chancellor Cluster University of Jammu (CUJ) Prof Bechan Lal was the chief guest on the occasion. He presented mementoes to the students participated in NEYP. In his address, he emphasized on living in harmony with nature and leading an eco-friendly life.
Prof Kuldeep Sharma, Regional Coordinator, Paryavaran Sanrakashan Gatividhi and the main speaker of the function spoke at length about the working of Paryavaran Sanrakashan Gatividhi with major thrust on water conservation, plantation and plastic waste management.
Principal of the host college Prof Ranjeet Singh Jamwal also emphasized upon the sustainable use of natural resources such as solar panels, rainwater harvesting etc. He lauded the students who participated in NEYP.
Others present on the occasion were Principal GCW Gandhi Nagar Prof Minu Mahajan, Principal Government College of Education Jammu Prof Kulwinder Kaur, Principal Government MAM College Jammu Dr G S Rakwal, besides Environmental Nodal Officers of the constituent colleges of CUJ Jammu including Prof Preeti Dogra, Prof Nisha Bhagat, Prof Sheeraz Kousser, Prof Navita Sharma, Prof Barbara Kaul and Dr Sandhya Bhardwaj.
Dr Deepak Pathania, ENO of the host college was also honoured on the occasion. He as well as NEYP participants also shared their experiences of the visit to the Parliament House, New Delhi.
