JAMMU, Dec 25: The extraordinary team effort helped Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC), Srinagar to drub HPCC Reasi by a margin of 38 runs in the quarterfinals to enter into the last four stage in the ongoing 2nd Jammu Tawi Premier T20 Cricket Tournament at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here today.
Now, in the semifinals, RCC will take on Mayank Goswami Cricket Academy at the same venue tomorrow.
Earlier, RCC Srinagar winning the toss and batting first, scored a fighting total of 143 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process. Satish Kumar was the top scorer with 43 runs, studded with 7 magnificent boundaries, while Manik Gupta and Ahmer contributed valuable 30 and 24 runs to the total respectively. Gupta hit 4 boundaries and Ahmer struck 3. For HPCC Reasi, Aarif bagged 2 wickets, while Majid, Sami and Waseem claimed one wicket each.
HPCC in reply bundled out for 105 runs in 18.3 overs, thus lost the match by 38 runs. Raja Khan to scored with 34 runs, while Shoaib Jeelani and Majid contributed 19 and 18 runs to the total respectively. Dilbagh Singh and Shashi Kumar bagged 3 wickets for RCC, while Amit Sharma took 2 wickets. Skipper Kuldeep Kumar and Manik Gupta shared one wicket each. Satish was adjudged man of the match for his superb knock of 43 runs.
The match was officiated by Sohail Yousuf and Sandeep Manchanda as umpires, while Ankan Sharma was the scorer.
