Teachers, students explore Science with nature

JAMMU, Feb 2: In order to foster scientific temperament and the art of hands on activities among teachers of mobile schools a three day workshop entitled “Popularization of Science activities under ST Plan (Project), Govt. of India” for the teachers and students of mobile schools of District Samba began at Humanity Public School, here today.
The Workshop was inaugurated by Gaurav Charak, Principal Humanity Public School, Basi Kalan, Samba and Zaffar Ullah Khan, Founder Secretary NCURDS Jammu.
In his welcome address, Antriksh Singh programme coordinator District Samba while giving the details of the workshop said that this workshop is a joint venture of Vigyan Prasar, Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, Noida and National Council for Urban and Rural Development Society (NCURDS), Jammu.
He further added that the main purpose of the programme is to foster scientific temperament among the teachers and students laying stress on “Learning by Doing” in discharging effective teaching learning process that ultimately will benefits student communities.
Throughout the day the teachers and students were seen observing and exploring the science, scientific concepts and ideas in nature, under the guidance of Dr. Ashaq Hussain the master Resource Person and Professor Govt. Degree College Kishtwar and Kuldeep Gupta, Master, GHS, Simbal Camp another resource person of the workshop, who demonstrated various activities related to nature in order to make teaching-learning science as a fun for both teachers and students.
Earlier in his inaugural address Gaurav Charak, Principal Humanity Public School, while thanking Vigyan Prasar and NCURDS Jammu for arranging such an informative and result oriented programme for the teachers and students of this District, stressed the participating teachers to carry out their activities learned during the program in the respective schools.
In his address, Zaffar Ullah Khan, Founder Secretary General, NCURDS, Jammu added that in this developing era of science & Technology, the teachers and the students should be equipped with the latest and practical knowledge of Science.
