TCI Cheetahs, Kehwa Kings register resounding wins in JKCPL

SRINAGAR, July 12: Strong sides of TCI Cheetahs and Kehwa Kings registered emphatic victories over their rivals in the ongoing historic Big-GK Jammu and Kashmir Corporate Premier League (JKCPL), being conducted at Bijbehara and Kashmir University Grounds, here.
Earlier, at Bijbehara, TCI Cheetahs defeated Jumbo Gladiators by 7 wickets in an easy contest.
Put into bat by TCI Cheetahs skipper Majid Dar, Jammu Gladiators scored a modest total of 129 runs in 18.4 overs. Left-handed explosive batsman Puneet Kumar was the top scorer with 36 runs off 21 balls, which included 3 boundaries and an equal number of sixes, while Sahil Agarwal contributed 22 off 20 balls, studded with 2 fours and 2 sixes. For TCI Cheetahs, Adil Mushtaq scalped 3 wickets, while Majid Dar and Waris took wickets each and Pawan Negi claimed one.
In reply, TCI Cheetahs, reached the required target in 18.4 overs by losing 3 wickets, thus won the match by 7 wickets. Pawan Negi played a brilliant innings of unbeaten 69 runs, which he scored in 47 balls with the help of 9 boundaries and 2 massive sixes, while Imran Bazaz contributed valuable 53 runs off 44 balls with the help of 6 boundaries. For Jumbo Gladiators, Raman Dutta bagged 2 wickets, while Kuldeep Kumar claimed one.
Pawn Negi of TCI Cheetahs was adjudged man of the match which was awarded to him by Waseem Tramboo, while Puneet Kumar received the award for hitting maximum sixes from Abdul Qayoom Bagaw.
Meanwhile, in another match at Kashmir University Grounds, Kehwa Kings drubbed Sachdeva Leopards by 6 wickets.
Batting first, Sachdeva Leopards scored 138 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Mohsin Ramzan top scored with 36 runs, while Saim Mustafa contributed valuable 31 runs. Both the batsmen hit 2 powerful sixes each. Skipper Adil Reshi was the pick of the bowlers for Kehwa Kings, who scalped 3 wickets, while Saqib Majeed claimed 2 wickets.
Kehwa Kings, in reply reached the target easily in 15.3 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Hilal Ahmed played a magnificent innings of 41 runs off 27 balls, including 5 fours and 2 sixes, while Arshid Khawaja and Pardeep Bali contributed 26 and 22 runs to the total respectively. Asif Rasool, Zahoor Sofi, Asif Khan and Javid Mir claimed one wicket apiece for Sachdeva Leopards. Adil Reshi was declared man of the match, while Hilal Ahmed got the award for hitting maximum sixes.
