Tawi Trekkers celebrates 42nd Anniversary

JAMMU, Feb 3: Tawi Trekkers J&K marked its 42nd Anniversary and Annual Prize Distribution Function at Amar Singh Club, Jammu. The event was attended by several sport climbers, mountaineers and institutions promoting adventure activities. Saneev Verma, Commissioner Secretary, Social Welfare Department, Jammu & Kashmir, was the chief guest on the occasion.
The ceremony was presided over by Anil Goswami, Chairman of the club and former Home Secretary of India. Other notable attendees included Ashwani Sharma, former MLA, Zorawar Singh Jamwal, Ram Khajuria, Vivek Chauhan, Parveen Sharma, Sumit Khajuria, Shawetica Khajuria, Sonam Sidharth, Prof. C.K. Khajuria, Dr. Mritunjay Gupta, Amit Sharma, Rakesh Goswami, Valvinder Singh, Dr. Mandeep Singh, Ulfat Ara and Shobha Rajput.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of the ‘Narinder Singh Slathia Dedication Award’ to Sumit Khajuria for his selfless service and passion for the club. Sumit Khajuria, along with mountaineers Shashi Kant Sharma, Sourav Deep Singh, Mallikarjun Singh Slathia and Wing Commander Rajesh Mukhi, were also honoured for their notable climbing achievements, including summiting the UT Kangri peak in Ladakh.
Several schools and institutions were recognized for their outstanding contribution to adventure activities. The event was expertly anchored by Arti Sharma and Sanjeevani Bhardwaj.
