Tanmay, Vishal guide NCC to 25-run win over Simula

JAMMU, May 22: Speedsters Tanmay Slathia and Vishal Rana played a pivotal role in guiding National Cricket Club (NCC) to 25-run win over Simula Sports Club in the ongoing Jammu District JKCA Premier Cricket Championship, being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association, under the overall supervision of Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
The matches are being conducted by the organizing committee including Rajesh Gill, Rajesh Dhar, Vijay Saberwal, Vijay Sharma, Harsh Nayyar and Sachin Singh.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, NCC scored 179 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 30 overs. Pranav Gupta and Ateev Saini scored 37 runs each, while Gokul Baru, Abdul Samad and Manish Dogra contributed 23, 19 and 13 runs to the total respectively. From Simula Sports Club, Raman Dutta took 3 wickets, while Akash Choudhary and Ritik claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Simula Sports Club faced a sudden collapse after Atul Sharma (57) and skipper Shashi Kumar (51) hit brilliant half-centuries and managed to score 157 runs in 23.4 overs, thus lost the match by 25 runs. Apart from these two batsmen none of the other batsmen could cross the double figure mark. Atul hit 8 boundaries and a six in his 47-ball knock, while Shashi struck 7 fours in his 56-ball knock.
From NCC, Tanmay Slathia took 4 important wickets in his 6 overs by conceding 35 runs, while Vishal Rana baged 3 wickets by giving away 20 runs in his 6 overs. Vijay Dogra and Abdul Samad also claimed 1 wicket each. Tanmay Slathia of Simula Sports Club was adjudged as the man of the match.
The match was officiated by Ashok Singh and Dayal Singh as umpires, while Saleem-ur-Rehman was the scorer.
