JAMMU, May 31: Jammu & Kashmir Taekwondo Association organized “16th J&K State (Sub-Junior/ Cadet) Kyorugi/ Poomsae Taekwondo Championship 2014″ and 4th Open J&K State Taekwondo Championship 2014” (Juniors /Seniors) at Dogra Brahmin Pratinidhi Sabha, Parade, Jammu, under the aegis of Taekwondo Federation of India.
Around 400 players/officials are participating in this Championship and players from the all the 22 Districts of Jammu and Kashmir State showcase their skills.
The chief guest of the Opening Ceremony was Ashok Khajuria, MLA Jammu East, who while speaking on the occasion congratulated all the participants/organizers. H K Pangotra was the guest of honour.
The Championship was presided over by Master Sundemani Patel (International Referee) from Chandigarh as observer from Taekwondo Federation of India
The technical team was headed by Atul Pangotra (NIS) International Referee and his team of officials including Rajat Thakur, Mukta Gupta, Barinder Singh Manhas, Rohit Sharma, Sunil Singh, Burhan ud din, Mohd Ali Baghee, Zaheer Abbas Khan (National Referees). The opening ceremony hosted by Zaheer Abbas Khan.
Result of Sub-Junior Girls: Under 16 kg: Ujwal Manyal, Jammu (Gold) and Nayati Mahajan, Jammu (Silver)
Under 18kg: Meigya, Jammu (Gold) and Vaibhavi Abrol Jammu (Silver)
Under 20kg: Anamika Sharma Kathua( Gold) and Manasavni Verma( Silver)
Under 22kg: Khushi Sahni Jammu (Gold), Vanshika Gupta Jammu (Silver) and Suhana Jammu (Bronze)
Under 24kg: Vasundra Sharma, Jammu (Gold), Maheen Shwal Jammu (Silver) and Navya Jain Jammu (Bronze) and Damini Kapahi Jammu (Bronze).
Under 29kg: Asma gul Jammu (Gold), Janvi Bahu Jammu (Silver), Manya Gupta Jammu (Bronze), Vidhi Pandita Jammu (Bronze).
