JAMMU, Aug 20: The budding swimmers of Jammu district blossomed and dominated the day-1 of the Divisional Level Inter-District Swimming Competition, which got underway at KC Public School, here today.
The competitions are being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the supervision of Ved Parkash, Deputy Director, Jammu.
In Under-19 boys 100 mtr free style, Ahmad Akram and Kinshuk Safaya of Jammu claimed gold and silver respectively, while in Under-19 200 mtr free style, Ahmad Akram of Jammu, Rajat Sharma of Samba and Sushant Singh of Kathua claimed gold, silver and bronze respectively.
In Under-19 boys 50 mtr free style, Kinshuk Safaya, Ahmad Akram and Pranshu Kabra (all from Jammu), bagged gold, silver and bronze, while in Under-19 boys 400 mtr free style, Mudit Gupta and Pranshu Kabra, both from Jammu claimed first two places respectively.
In Under-19 boys 50 mtr butter fly, Kinshuk Safaya of Jammu, Shubam Sharma of Kathua and Kanwar Sethi of Jammu bagged gold, silver and bronze respectively.
In Under-17 boys 100 mtr free style, Sidhant Sharma, Ukshay Sharma and Navya (all from Jammu) claimed gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, while in Under-17 boys 200 mtr free style, Sidhant of Jammu, Rasogya Tandon of Jammu and Vishal Sharma of Kathua bagged first, second and third place respectively.
Prithpal Singh of Samba, Suresh Salgotra of Kathua and Rohit Verma of Kathua clinched gold, silver and bronze respectively, while in Under-17 boys 50 mtr butter fly, Adhar Koul of Jammu, Vishal Sharma of Kathua and Harish Yadhav of Jammu bagged gold, silver and bronze respectively.
In Under-17 boys 100 mtr back stroke, Rasogya Tandon of Jammu claimed gold, Hoshiar Singh of Kathua bagged silver and Prithpal Singh of Samba clinched bronze.
Meanwhile, in Under-14 boys 50 mtr free style, Karan Dhar of Jammu, Abhishek of Jammu and Sarjaveen of Kathua bagged gold, silver and bronze respectively, while in 100 mtr free style, Karan Dhar, Shubam Sharma of Samba and Abhishek of Jammu claimed first, second and third place respectively.
In Under-14 boys 100 mtr back stroke, Deepak Singh of Kathua and Abhinav of Jammu claimed gold and silver respectively, while in 50 mtr butter fly, Youraj and Gandhrav of Jammu bagged gold and silver respectively.
Pratual, Ritik and Shubam Sharma (all from Jammu) claimed gold, silver and bronze medal in Under-14 boys 50 mtr back stroke, while in Under-14 boys 50 mtr breast stroke, Youraj and Gandhrav of Jammu bagged gold and silver respectively.
