POONCH, Oct 12: In the ongoing 28th Poonch open District Table Tennis Championship, Suhani beat Vanshika in a close contest by 10-12,11-9, 11-9 and won her maident title.
Earlier, in Junior boys, Aman bt Zafar by 11-6,11-8, Pratham beat Vanshik by 11-3,11-6, Baljeet drubbed Akshit by 11-7, 11-9 and Ridhik trounced Pranav by 11-6,12-10.
In the first semifinal, Anuj outplayed Pratham by 11-9,11-4 while in second semifinal, Baljeet defeated Ridik by 11-8,11-8.
In men’s singles first round, Anuj outclassed Kaif by 11-5,11-7, Salil Raina prevailed over Daleep Singh by 11-6,11-9, Vishav beat Sahil by 11-7,11-8, and Sandeep Luthra got the better of Harshit 11-8,11-8. “The finals of the championship will be played on 14th of October followed by U-17 championship under Khelo India which is going to be organized by District Table Tennis Association Poonch under the aegis of J&K State Table Tennis Association,” said Er Saleem Bandey, General Secretary of the Association.
