JAMMU, May 22: Students from different branches of UCMAS Abacus–a World Leader in Abacus Based Brain Development Program, vied for top honours in the 6th J&K State Level UCMAS Abacus and Arithmetic Competition titled “Clash of Champions”, which was held at Mahajan Hall, Shalamar Road, here today.
The competition was organized as per the guideline provided by Akademi Sempoa and Mental Aritmetik UCMAS Sdn Bhd, Malaysia and UCMAS India Network.
Around 500 students pursuing UCMAS course in different batches participated in the competition, which was conducted in 8 levels where 200 questions of Arithmetic (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division) were asked and children were given a time of mere 8 minutes to complete the paper.
Due to the vigorous training provided at UCMAS Centers in Jammu for State Level Competition, the children of age group 5 to 13 years answered trickiest of mathematical question within seconds.
A large number of parents witnessed this competition, during which they were informed about UCMAS National Level Abacus Competition (NLAC) to be held this year in the month of August at Pink City Jaipur and International competition to be held in December at Dubai.
On the occasion, Mahatama Shri Shabad Sagar Anand from Shri Anandpur Trust, Madhya Pradesh was also present, who blessed the students and the people present during the competition. The guest of honor was Madam Vinod of Anand Public School Sukhpur, Madhya Pradesh.
While speaking, Director UCMAS J&K Rupesh Masson and Sonia Masson stated that UCMAS is the result of ancient research, which states how to explore and develop the potentialities of the human brain fully. This ancient tool (abacus) used in the course is a part of the ancient art of mathematics, they said, adding that this tool helps to develop memory, concentration, speed and accuracy of a child which results in student’s better performance in school too.
Rupesh Masson stated that in the current times of fierce race to success, it has become important to bring out the best of the children, adding that this yearly competition act as a motivating factor and provide a platform to the students to excel at National and International Level.
He further stated that the result of this competition will be announced within week’s time.
Centre Head of different UCMAS Centers namely Arun Gupta, Jyoti Kohli, Sandeep Choudhary, Laxmi Gupta, Anita Bhan, Ritika Gupta, Sonia Rekhi, Baljit Kour, Shilpe Gupta, Gurmeet Kour, Seema Devi, Pallavi Hans and Course Instructors of different UCMAS centers were also present on the occasion.
In the end, Rupesh Masson presented vote of thanks.
