KALAKOTE, Mar 31: Two days “Students Exchange Programme and Leadership Camp”, organised by Rashtriya Rifles in collaboration with KC Public School, Jammu concluded here today, in which 40 students from various institutions took part.
The aim of organising this student exchange and leadership camp was to inculcate team spirit and leadership qualities, among the students.
During the two days programme, competitions in various disciplines including obstacle race, skits, extempore speaking, trekking etc were organised.
Besides this, the students got glimpses of life in the Army, as well as first hand experience of organising various events as a team.
The students were also given an exposure to various weapons and equipment used by the Army and the Air Force at a Radar Station situated nearby. They also visited coal excavation unit namely Metka Coal Mines.
A motivating lecture was also given by the Commanding Officer of the unit, who apprised the participants about various entries and options available for joining the Armed Forces.
Among others present were Anil Gujral, Principal, Government Higher Secondary School, Sialsui, Sonia Thakur, Creative Head, KC Public School, Jammu and other Army officers.
