State Thaiboxing Championship concludes

JAMMU, Dec 21: First State Thaiboxing Championship was inaugurated by Minister PHE Irrigation and Flood Control Sukhnandan Choudhary in the premises of Vishwa Bharati Public Higher Secondary School, concluded today.
Several schools from different districts of Jammu took part in the championship SSP Vigilance Koushal Sharma, Secretary School Dr S K Koul, Secretary V B College of Education Prof A N Sadhu, Principal College of Education Prof Sunita Kampassi, Principal Vishwa Bharati School Prof Annapurna Koul, Sarpanch and Panch of the adjoining area of Akalpur and dignitaries from other schools were present on the occasion.
The championship was declared open by the  Minister Sukhnandan Choudhary with his valuable speech. The  Minister during his speech laid emphasis on the sports activity to be held on the priority basis apart from academic activity.
The participants from different districts participated in this championship with great enthusiasm and displayed tough stand against their rivals in fights.
The championship concluded today in the presence of Chief Guest Prof A N Sadhu, guest of honour Dr S K Koul, Prof Annapurna Koul and Sarpanch Rajroop Singh.
Trophies and Medals were awarded to different teams for the winners. Vishwa Bharati School won eleven gold, thirteen silver medals and twenty four bronze medals along with overall winner trophy.
The first runner-up trophy was won by Unique  Public School and second runner-up trophy was won by the team comprised of the schools of Reasi District.
