JAMMU, Nov 12: State Level Inter-District Under-19 Girls Athletic Meet, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, concluded at BSF Stadium, Paloura, here today.
Suresh Kumar, Commissioner/Secretary Home Department was the chief guest on the occasion, while Rakesh Sharma, IGP BSF Jammu Frontier was the guest of honour and Navin Agarwal, Director General Youth Services and Sports presided over the function.
Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Kanchan Bala was also present on the occasion.
Earlier, in 200 meters Under-19 girls, Bazama Farooq of Anantnag bagged gold, while Sapna Devi of Kathua and Riya Manhas of Reasi claimed silver and bronze medal respectively.
In 200 meters Under-17 girls, Sonia Shah of Rajouri clinched gold, while the silver and bronze medals went to Floery Zakir of Kulgam and Iqrah Farooq of Shopian respectively.
In 400 meters Under-19 girls, Tayaba Anjum of Jammu bagged gold, while Simmi Devi of Samba won silver and Fozia Majeed of Ganderbal claimed bronze medal.
In 4×100 meters relay Under-17 girls, Kathua, Jammu and Udhampur bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, while in 4×100 meters Under-19 girls, Jammu, Kathua and Udhampur claimed gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
District Jammu emerged overall champion in Under-14 and Under-19 girls, while District Kathua claimed title trophy in Under-17 girls.
