Bavleen adjudged all round best

JAMMU, Dec 20: State’s ace Gymnast Bavleen Kour was declared as all- round best Gymnast during the ongoing 64th National School Games (Gymnastics), organised under the banner of School Games Federation of India (SGFI) at Pune in Maharashtra.
She made the State proud by winning Gold in the all-round best Gymnast event, Gold in Ribbon & Clubs events, Silver in Team Championships and Bronze in Ball event.
Another Gymnast Vandhana Barathi of J&K too got Bronze medal in Hoop event.
J&K Gymnasts won a total of 7 medals with 3 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze. Bavleen earlier has also made her state proud by winning 4 medals during the last edition of Khelo India Nationals at New Delhi in February, 2018 and has also secured fourth rank in the Thailand open RG Championships 2018 held at Bangkok.
The team comprised of Bavleen, Vandhana, Nandani Lakhotra and Stuti Gupta of J&K performed well and secured silver medal in the Team Championships.
Maharashtra clinched the Gold whereas Delhi got Bronze medal.
After clinching heights, breaking the milestones and showcasing an outstanding performance at the 64th National School Games, six Gymnasts from J&K namely Bavleen Kour, Vandhana, Nandini, Stuti Gupta, Tawishi Singh and Sneha Dewan have been selected for the upcoming prestigious Khelo India Youth Games-2019 to be held at Pune from January 9 to 20, 2019.
All these Gymnasts are taking training at State Sports Council’s Regional Coaching Center, Indoor Sports Complex, Jammu under the expert guidance of Sports Council coaches.
