JAMMU, Dec 1: 4 climbers of J&K alongwith a Manager and a Coach left today for Kolkata to participate in the 20th National Sport Climbing Championship scheduled to be organised by Indian Mountaineering Foundation East Zone Committee, Kolkata from December 4 to December 7, 2014. The four J&K climbers namely Shivani Charak, Hardev Singh, Mrityunjay Sharma and Shilpa Charak are a part of 24 member North Zone team for the National competition.
Shawetica Khajuria, general secretary of Tawi Trekkers J&K and a National Judge in Sport Climbing and Anil Kumar are accompanying the J&K climbers as manager and coach respectively.
Earlier, the J&K team along with Secretary of Mountaineering Association of J&K, Ram Khajuria called on the president of the Association B.R Sharma, Financial Commissioner, Planning & Development Department, J&K. Sharma wished the team all the best and announced that the Association would suitably honour the climbers who win medals in the National Competition.
