Stadium XI registers win over RCC Udh by 115 runs in inaugural tie

KATHUA, Jan 11: Stadium XI Kathua registered win over RCC Udhampur by a huge margin of 115 runs in the inaugural tie of the 5th Police Martyr Memorial North Zone Inter Club T-20 Cricket Championship, being organized jointly by the J&K Police and Shaheed Welfare Committee Kathua in the memory of Shaheed DySP Manjeet Singh and other brave hearts of J&K Police at sports stadium, here today.
Electing to bat first, after winning the toss, Stadium XI Kathua scored 161 runs in allotted 20 overs. Pankaj Ladda smashed some magnificent shots and scored 70 runs in 54 balls, whereas Shiv Dutt contributed with 24 runs.
In reply, RCC Udhampur was bundled out at paltry 46 runs in less than 10 overs, thereby paving way for Stadium XI Kathua to enter into the next round of the tournament.
Pankaj Ladda of Stadium XI Kathua was declared as man of the match and was presented a cash prize of Rs 1000 and a trophy.
Earlier, the tournament was declared open by Rajesh Kumar, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu Zone along with Shakeel Ahmed Beig, Deputy Inspector General of Police Jammu-Kathua Range and Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner, Kathua in presence of officers of Police Department and civil administration, families of police martyrs, citizens and sports lovers.
