KISHTWAR, July 4: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Kishtwar, Khalil Poswal today inaugurated multi-utility Sports Complex at Gulabgarh, Padder which was constructed by Kishtwar police in the memory of Martyr Constable Rishi Kumar, who got martyrdom in Rajouri district in 2001.
With the motive to bring the sports atmosphere to remotest corners and keep the youth engaged in sports activities, the sports complex was constructed at Gulabgarh Padder. The Army has also constructed one basketball court.
During the inaugural ceremony, Senior Superintendent of Police, Kishtwar, Khalil Poswal said that the budding sportspersons will be given a level playing field to display their talent and to ensure their career progressions under these flagship programs.
He said, “It’s the collective responsibility of parents, civil society members and police to organize such types of platforms to keep the younger generation away from the scourge of drug addiction, anti-social and anti national acts.”
Those who attended the event includes Commanding Officer, 17 Rashtriya Rifles, Ameya, as guest of honour, Tehsildar Paddar, Satish Kumar, Inspector Vikram Singh, Station House Officer, Atholi, Major 17 Rashtriya Rifles, Rohit Jha, Kunj Lal, father of the martyr Rishi Kumar, public representatives and many other dignities.
