JAMMU, Dec 9: SSP Jammu Tajinder Singh and Davi Dayal excelled in the Master’s Athletic Meet-2019 which was organised at Govt College for Women, Gandhi Nagar Jammu by J&K Master’s Athletic Association of J&K in collaboration with District Administration and District Police Jammu concluded there.
While SSP Jammu became the fastest athlete in 100 mtrs sprint, while Devi Dayal, International athlete got two gold medals in Shot Put and Discus Throw. Ravinder Singh became the fastest walker in 5 k, while Sudesh Basotra emerged fastest women walker.
The pondium finishers included Tarsem Lal Basotra, Seema Kharyal, Rayaz Ahmed, Pawan Sahrma, Rajesh Padha, Tahir, Amreesh, Chandan Singh, Sham Suri, Anissa Nabi, Nillam Sharma, Neeru Sharma, Ramesh Badyal, RK Sharma, Col Rajinder Singh, Capt Jagdish Raj Sharma, Yusaf Ahmed, Anil Padha, Shipra Aggarwal, Dilawar Khan, Krishan Sharma, Jaswant Singh, Sandeep Singh, Satbir Singh, Sunder Gupta, Vishal Sharma, Anoop Sharma, AK Dutta, Vicky Choudhary, Sunder Choudhary, Vivek Gandotra, Sachin Gandotra and Ajay Gandotra.
The Meet was held in different age categories in various events, which included 100 m, 200 m, 400 m, 800 m, 1500 m, besides 5 and 10 km run, 5 km walk for men & 3 km walk for women, apart from Discus Throw, Shot Put, Javelin Throw and Long Jump.
In 5 km run, the top three positions in various age categories were bagged by:
35+ category: Mangat Singh, Pritam Kumar and Dilawar Khan; 40+ category: Rayaz Ahmed, Makhan Lal and Vicky Choudhary.
45+ category: Ram Raj, Jagdish Singh and Vikram Saini; 50+category: Jagdev Singh, Satvir Singh and Yousaf Ali.
In the 400 mtr run, the top three positions in various age categories were bagged by the following: 35+ category: Tahir Mir, Sharat Sharma and Muddasir Nabi; 40+ category: Rayaz Ahmed, Shafat-ul-Bashir and Vicky Choudhary; 45+ category: Rakesh Kumar, Manminder Singh and Rashid Ahmed.
50+ category: Sandeep Singh, Satvir Singh; 55+ category: Ravinder Singh, Anil Padha and VK Dogra; 65+ category: Joginder Singh was the winner; 75+ category: AK Dutta, Brij Mohan Sharma and Inder Singh.
In the 5 km walk, the top positions in various age categories were bagged by the following: 40+ category: Talvinder Singh, Vivek Gandotra and Sachin Gandotra; 45+ category: Shashi Pal Singh, Jai Paul and Satish Kumar; 50+ category: Amarjeet Singh, Rajinder Singh and Ajay Gandotra; 55+ category: Ravinder Singh, Sanjay Saini and Anil Padha; 60+ category: Lal Chand Verma, V B Khullar and Swarn Singh; 65+ category: Tarsem Lal and Rajinder; 75+ category: Jaswant Singh and RK Sharma; 80+ category: Romesh Badyal was the winner.
SSP Jammu presented the winners with prizes and medals. SP City South, Vinay Sharma, BR Sharma, Chairman, Masters Athletic Association, Ravi Singh, Divisional Sports Officer, J&K Sports Council and Seema Kharyal, Organising Member were also present at the occasion.
