JAMMU, Mar 12: SSP Jammu, Uttam Chand declared open the T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by J&K Police District Jammu, under Civic Action Programme (CAP) at S. Bana Singh Sports Stadium, R S Pura in presence of dignitaries including MLA Suchetgarh, Sham Lal Choudhary, MLA R S Pura, Dr. Gagan Bhagat, SDM  RS Pura, Deep Raj, Ranjit Kalra, Dr MMS Zema, Dr Harsh Sharma, Suresh Kumar, Nirmal Choudhary,  S Baljinder Singh, S Jagit Singh and Om Prakash.
SP Hqrs Jammu, S Randheer Singh while deliberating on the aims and objectives of tournament highlighted the importance of sports in the physical and mental development of youth.
He maintained that J&K Police is contributing overwhelmingly towards promotion of sports in the border belt  and providing opportunity in various sports competition which in the future run will help in building sportsmanship, stamina, courage, leadership qualities and above all make youth good citizens.
20 teams drawn from Bishnah, Arnia, R S Pura and Miran Sahib areas are  participating the tournament.
In the inaugural match, Young Star Cricket Club, Simbal Camp defeated Mokhey Cricket Club, RS Pura by 86 runs. S Karnail Singh from Young Star Cricket Club was adjudged man of the match for his splendid performance, scoring fabulous 46 runs.
The CAP activities in this area were undertaken under the guidance of J&K Police Headquarters under overall supervision of IGP Jammu Zone Jammu, DIG Jammu and SSP Jammu.
