Srinagar, Dec 13: Army today said that Srinagar Champions League culminated with Lasjan FC lifting the maiden trophy after an interesting contest.
A Defence spokesman said over thousand spectators, braving chilly winds, were compensated by an exceptional display of sporting skills and zealous competitiveness. Equally matched in almost all the facets of the game, the match eventually had to be decided through a penalty shootout, he said.
The spokesman said attractive prizes were awarded to the players in the post match presentation in which the star mid fielder Niyaz Ahmad of the winning side bagged the best player’s award for his impressive skills in the entire tournament.
