JAMMU, Feb 19: Sports Week which had begun on February 13, 2014 concluded at Nav Yug Higher Secondary School, here today.
The sports events during the week were organized in the school premises with sporting spirit and enthusiasm.
On the concluding day, Managing Director of the School, alongwith teachers and parents were present.
Quarterfinals, semifinals and the finals of various sports events were played today.
Speaking on the occasion, Hardev Singh Jamwal said that the event laid the groundwork for students to demonstrate utmost competence regarding various sports domains.
School Principal, Chander Kanta in her brief speech urged upon the students to always participate in such competitions.
Students who won Ist, 2nd and 3rd places in the matches were awarded with gold, silver and bronze medals.
Shooting (10m): In senior group Ashish, Vivek and Akshit got 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize, while Himanshu, Mehul and Tanveer of junior group got 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize respectively.
Chess: Jatin, Reshiwar and Shagun of Senior Group got 1st, 2nd and 3rd and in Junior Group Nitin, Harsh and Kushi bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize respectively.
Badminton: 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize in Senior Group went to Shagun, Rishab and Reshiwar, while Jatin, Anchita and Tania bagged the positions in Junior group.
Carrom Board: In Senior Group, Muskan , Devansh and Mehreena got 1st , 2nd and 3rd prize wheras in junior group Furkhan , Radhik and Jatin got the same.
Pick-n-run race: In Sub junior group Ayush, Priyal got 1st, Badal and Mriganka got 2nd whereas 3rd prize went to Abhijeet and Kajal. In Junior group, 1st prize went to Sumit and Vedika , Lavish and Riya got 2nd prize whereas 3rd prize went to Ashu tosh and Khushi.
Three Leg race: In sub junior group , pair of Priyal and Apoorva got 1st whereas Radhima, Poorna got 2nd prize and Pair of Mayuresh and Abhijeet got 3rd prize. In junior group 1st prize went to Shubam and Harsh, Ansh and Shoaib got 2nd prize whereas Sumit and Bhuvneshwar got 3rd prize.
Lemon Spoon Race: In Sub junior group Abhijeet , Kartavya and Tanmay in boys catageory whereas Jhanvi, Anadhi, and Keshvi in girls category got 1st 2nd and 3rd prize whereas In Junior group, 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize went to Laksh, Ashutosh and Rohit in boys category and to Chanvi, Arpita and Anshu in girls category.
Tug of war: In Tug of war, Liberty house defeated Peace house in boys category whereas Progress house defeated Fraternity house in girls category.
