JAMMU, Sept 15: Sports Week got underway at GD Goenka Public School with pomp and show, here yesterday.
The students of classes I and II of School, which is being governed by Om Prakash Bansal Charitable Trust participated in various sports activities during first two days.
This week has great significance as the sports is the best recreational activity for the students to inculcate spirit of sportsmanship and team work.
A myriad of activities are being organized for the enthusiastic students by their respective coaches. The coaches include Abhijeet, Jasmeet, Sanjay, Dheeraj, Maheep, Meenu, Sneha and Shweta.
In all, 550 students are participating in the activities like lemon race, sac race , three legged race, 25 m race and treasure hunt. The students did all sorts of warming up exercises and enjoyed it to the hilt.
The Sports Co-ordinator, Sandeep Jaiswal addressed the students and threw light on healthy food and junk food. The Principal of the School, Dr. R P Singh encouraged the students to take part in such activities of the sports and hone the skills to the fullest. He lauded the efforts of the Co-ordinators namely Nishita Sharma and Shipra Bali for conducting such activities.
