SRINAGAR, Mar 29: A four-day indoor sports camp which was organized by police concluded today in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
A police spokesman said the camp was organized under civic action program in order to develop the public police relations and clear the bad perception of police among masses. He said students from District Ganderbal between 10 to 15 years of age participated in the event which includes a quiz contest, carrom, painting and chess.
In this regard, he said, an award ceremony was held in the premises of District Police Lines Ganderbal today, to felicitate the winners as well as participants of sports camp. District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal, Showkat Aijaz Bhat was the chief guest on the occasion.
DDC Ganderbal, while speaking on the occasion said that, sports and co-curricular activities are very important for the sound growth of youth. “DDC Ganderbal also distributed the awards among participants, winners and teachers on the occasion who were the part of the four-day long sports camp,” the spokesman said.
Among others CEO Ganderbal, DFO Ganderbal and other officials of the District Police Lines were present on the occasion. “The sports event was held under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Ganderbal, Imtiaz Ismail Parray,” the police spokesman said. The prizes were distributed among the winners and participants from various schools of district.
