JAMMU, Feb 6: Special Olympics Bharat J&K   organized unique Sports events as district games for disabled at Convent Complex, Mandal, here.
The event was organized with the sole motive to explore their hidden talent through the medium of sports under MYAS in collaboration of SAI, Paralympics and association of deaf.
DIG CRPF Jammu Sham Chand was the Chief Guest on the valedictory function, who in his address said that Special Olympics is the only platform to glorify the lives of persons with disabilities and we all must strengthen this wonderful movement to provide opportunities to them.
DIG CRPF Jammu Sector Joginder Singh presided over the function and the dignitaries who graced the occasion included Commandant 160 Bn CRPF Surinder Mehra, Deputy Commandant JK Hari, Inspector Vijay Kumar and Sub Inspector Yogesh Kumar who presented medals and certificates of participation to the winners and the special athletes for their participation.
About 244 special athletes and 62 coaches participated. Dr Manohar Rana, BMO Sohanjana and Clinical Director health promotions SOB conducted all proceedings who also arranged all medical facilities during the events.
SDM South Jammu Sonu Pargal, was the Chief Guest who in his inaugural address said that special Olympics is the real movement which is providing ample opportunities to the differently abled to display their potential to compete with the normal human beings.
Earlier, Dr Manmeet Kumar Mottan, Child Development Project Officer, Social Welfare Department presided over the inaugural ceremony.
