Sports Associations take up various issues with ADGP, Secretary YS&S

KARGIL, Jan 13: A delegation of different Sports Associations of District Kargil led by President District Kargil Olympic Association Haji Mirza Hussain met ADGP Ladakh SS Khandare and Secretary Youth Services and Sports (YS&S) Ladakh Ravinder Kumar Dangi and submitted draft of Sports Policy for UT Ladakh compiled by experts of District Kargil Olympic Association.
Haji Mirza Hussain while talking to ADGP requested him to send team of Ladakh Police in different events like Archery, Athletics, Boxing, Taekwondo, Wushu, Volleyball and Football in the upcoming Police Games to be organized by All India Police Sports Control Board.
He also requested the ADGP to provide sports quota reservation for the outstanding athletes in the recruitment for Ladakh Police.
ADGP assured for all possible help for promotion of Sports in Ladakh particularly Ice Hockey, Horse Polo and Archery and assured to take all the demands on priority basis.
Haji Mirza Hussain raised the issue of adoption of Kargil District under Khelo India Small Scheme and urged upon him to take Ice Hockey, Wushu, Taekwondo, Boxing, Karate and Pencak Silat games for Kargil district with Secretary Youth Services and Sports UT Ladakh Ravinder Kumar Dangi.
Secretary assured to forward the request to concerned Ministry for early adoption of the District under Khelo India Small Scheme.
The delegation comprised General Secretary Ladakh Taekwondo Association Anayat Ali, Advisor District Kargil Olympic Association, Famous Sport Promoter and Polo Promoter, Mohammad Amin Polo and Treasurer DKOA and General Secretary Ladakh Wushu Association Safdar Ali.
