JAMMU, May 22: 14th J&K State Sport Climbing Championship will be organized by Mountaineering Association of J&K in collaboration with Sprawling Buds School, Lakshmi Puram, Chinore, Jammu on May 29 and May 30, 2014.
About 200 climbers from various districts of the State including Jammu, Anantnag, Srinagar and Budgam where District Sport climbing competitions have already been completed will vie for the honours in the two-day competition.
In case the participation exceeds 200 climbers, preliminary rounds of certain categories for Jammu district shall be conducted a day earlier.
The competitions will be conducted on the pre fabricated 40ft high Tenzing Norgay Sport Climbing Wall in Sprawling Buds school premises to be held in six categories of Men, Women (born in 1997 and earlier), Boys, Girls (born in 1998, 1999 and 2000) and Sub Jr. Boys / Girls (born in 2001 and after). Whereas Men, Women, Boys and Girls shall compete both in ‘lead climbing’ and ’speed climbing’ the Sub Jr. Boys and Girls shall participate in ‘lead climbing’ only.
