JAMMU, Sept 11: NCC and NSS units of Government SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu in collaboration with Youth Club and Eco Club organized a rally and symposiums on corruption free J&K under the supervision of Dr. Surinder Kumar, Principal of the college here today.
The program started with an awareness rally which was flagged off by Principal of the college, Dr Surinder Kumar, who also addressed the students. He talked in length about corruption which is like a termite in our society.
Dr Surinder Kumar also impressed upon the fact that corruption free society will result in equal opportunities for all and overall development of the country. The rally was also accompanied with teachers of the college.
Later, a symposium was held on the topic “Corruption free J&K” in which about seven student Cadet Himanshu Khullar, Cadet Tanish Sharma, Cadet Sourav Kumar, Cadet Jatin Kumar, Rasneet Kour, Palvi Sarmal and Pranav Verma participated and expressed their views and took an oath to refrain from corruption in any form to make J&K as well as India corruption free.
Prof. Barbara Kaul talked about the root causes that lead to corruption. She told the audience that corruption starts from one’s mind in search of easy way to have task done and then it spreads in whole of the society.
Prof. Savita Jamwal, ANO NCC emphasized that students are the backbone of the society and honest students will result in a corruption free nation. She said corruption is the root cause of poverty, inequality and injustice. Dr. Monika Malhotra, Dr. Nazia Rasool, Prof. Deepshikha Sharma, Dr. Shipra Gupta, Dr. Sarabjeet Kour, Dr, Fayza, Dr. Jagmeet Kaur, Dr. Deepak Pathania and Raman Kumar Sharma were also present there. The whole event was compared by Cadet Himanshu Khullar.
