SPMR College lifts Inter-Collegiate Kabaddi trophy

JAMMU, Oct 7: Sri Pratap Memorial Rajput (SPMR) College of Commerce defeated Government Degree College Jammu City Paloura by 46-24 points and lifted the Inter-Collegiate Kabaddi (Men) Tournament trophy.
In the final match, Choudhary Lal Singh, Minister for Forest, Environment and Ecology, was the chief guest.
In his address, the Minister said that the game of Kabaddi has got a new life and is becoming an important game these days.
Director Sports, University of Jammu, Prof Avtar Singh Jasrotia said that in the future GDC Kathua will be given more opportunities for organizing such type of sports events.
Principal of the college Prof Kartar Chand was also present on the occasion.
Earlier in the semis, Government Degree College Jammu City (Paloura) reached the final by defeating GDC Kathua by 37-29 and SPMR College of Commerce thrashed Government MAM College by 44-43 to make it to final.
Prof PK Rao presented vote of thanks, while the proceedings of the programme were conducted by Prof Sumanesh Jasrotia.
The tournament was held under the supervision of Dr Balwinder Singh, Physical Training Instructor of GDC Kathua and organized by Prof Sumanesh Jasrotia, Prof Sandeep Choudhary, Dr RK Manhas, Dr Suraya Partap Singh, Dr Kehar Singh and Dr Rachna.
