SPCC enters QFs of Pawan Memorial T20

AKHNOOR, June 28: A brilliant knock of 67 runs by Amit Sharma went in vain as Shashi Paul Cricket Club (SPCC) defeated Bhadrore Cricket Club (BCC) by 5 wickets to qualify for the quarterfinals of the ongoing 4th Pawan Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Singh Cricket Club, Akhnoor at Government Higher Secondary School ground, here today.
Earlier, batting first, Bhadrore Club, scored a fighting total of 144 runs in the stipulated 20 overs by losing 6 wickets. Amit Sharma was the top scorer with 67 runs off 56 balls, which included 6 sixes and 3 boundaries, while VP Singh contributed 20-ball 26 runs with the help of 1 four and 3 sixes. Bhanu Pratap Singh also contributed 16 runs to the total. For SPCC, Ricky, Bunty and Rohit claimed 1 wicket each.
SPCC, in reply chased the target in just 13 overs by losing 5 wickets, thus won the match by 5 wickets. Sonu made quick-fire 57 runs in 25 balls, studded with 6 sixes and 2 fours, while Love contributed valuable 47 runs to the winning cause. For Bhadrore Club, Bunty scalped 2 wickets, while Gosha, Vishal and Rahul claimed one wicket apiece. Sonu of SPCC was adjudged man of the match for his magnificent knock.
The match was officiated by Sham Singh Langeh and Vikas Bali as umpires, while Srikant maintained the scorebook.
