SP XI defeats DC XI in one-day cricket tourney

DODA, July 26: The district administration today organized a one-day cricket tournament with a view to promote sports in the district.
The tournament was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner (DDC), Bhupinder Kumar in presence of DIG Batote-Doda Kishtwar Range and SSP Doda.
The inaugural match was played between DC XI Doda and SP XI Doda. In an interesting match, SP XI beat DC XI by 7 wickets.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, DC XI scored a total of 108 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Umar Khan scored unbeaten 40 runs and Bhupinder Kumar made 15 runs.
While chasing a modest target of 110 runs, SP XI Doda played exceptionally well and achieved the target in 18 overs with 7 wickets in hand, and thus won the match.
Ashiq Hussain of SP XI Doda was declared as Man of the Match for his excellent 60 runs and was given trophy by DDC Doda and SSP Doda.
