JAMMU, Sept 21: Clinching gold in 10 meters sprint, Sourav Sharma of district Kathua emerged fastest athlete in the Inter District State Level Athletic Meet for Under-14 and 17 Boys, which got underway at M.A Stadium, here today.
Earlier, the competitions were declared open by Sukhdev Raj, DYSSO Jammu in a simple and well attended function.
In all, 240 boys and 24 officials drawn from 16 Districts across J&K State are competing for top honours in the Meet.
The tournament is being organised by the department of Youth Services & Sports as a part of Annual calendar of sports activates under the supervision of Madan Lal Joint Director Youth Services and Sports and Sukhdev Raj Sharma District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu. While, Sourav Sharma of District Kathua became the fastest athlete by clinching gold medal in Under-17 boys 100 mtrs sprint race, silver and the bronze medal in this event went to Masood Ahmed of Shopian and Sajjad Hussain of Jammu respectively,
In 100 Mtrs Under-14 boys, Mehrajudin of Baramulla won gold, Tamandeep Singh of Jammu bagged silver and Mohd Younis of Budgam claimed bronze.
