JAMMU, Apr 25: Soham Kamotra and Arushi Kotwal won the Under-15 events in boys and girls categories respectively in the ongoing Jammu division selection events, here.
Young Amrita Gupta gave very tough fight to Arushi Kotwal and was placed 2nd. She also played well in boys group and got 6th position.
Ojaswani Mengi got 3rd position in girls U-15 age category, while Pranav Abrol got 2nd position in boys U-15 category and Ayush Gupta got third position.
All the matches were conducted by Vivek, Chess coach of J&K State, under Swiss System and International Chess Rules.
All the matches were conducted under the guidance of Atul Kumar Gupta, President AJKCA and under the supervision of Baldev Raj, Vice President AJKCA.
Selected players from these events along with selected players from Kashmir division will represent J&K State in forthcoming Nationals.
